Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are teaming up to star in an upcoming half-hour dark comedy series, Maniac, for Netflix. And it sounds like it's going to be great: Maniac is based on the 2014 Norwegian series about a man who *thinks* he's living his fantasy dream life but is actually locked up in a mental institution. The way I see it is who cares if you're locked up in a mental institution as long as you're living your best life?

Scandanavian cultural imports to the U.S. tend to do quite well — see Karl Ove Knausgård's My Struggle; Let the Right One In; A-ha. Also, Cary Fukunaga, the primary reason True Detective Season 1 was so much better than Season 2, is directing. Someone is going to have to really screw this up for Netflix not to have a huge hit on their hands.
