Daniel Craig Is Not Done With James Bond Yet

Apparently Craig has got a little more 007 left in him.

It looks like the breathless speculation about who will replace Daniel Craig as James Bond in the next installment of 007 movies was a shade premature.

Though it had been widely presumed that the upcoming Spectre film would be the his last as James Bond, Craig  says we shouldn’t be retiring him off just yet — even though the role has been physically grueling.

“I work myself to death. It’s getting hard, but such is life. I’ll keep going as long as I’m physically able,” Craig told the Mail on Sunday. “It’s an honour to play [Bond]. I get such a big kick out of doing it. I’m contracted for one more but I’m not going to make predictions.”

Though he was coy about whether he definitely will do one more after Spectre, he hinted that he’d like to continue, and that it was more than possible. “It’s getting easier because I’m doing less [stunt work],” he said. “I’ve got so many good doubles.”

He added, “If you don’t get excited about making a movie of this size with this cast, with [director] Sam Mendes…then go home.”

It sounds like Craig isn’t quite ready to go home yet. I guess Idris Elba, Tom Hardy, Damien Lewis and the dozen other actors who have been nominated by the internet to become the next James Bond will just have to sit tight for a while. A true 007 will wait patiently for his prize.
