When he’s not busy distracting your girlfriend with his handsomeness, Jon Hamm can usually be found playing a huge prick. Whether it’s the retro (Mad Men), hysterical (Bridesmaids) or, in the case of Friends with Kids, unexpected variety, his dickishness knows no bounds. Since Hamm’s so good at playing these types, we asked him for his favorite jerks of television. Then, we hit him up for some free rolls of Jon Hamm’s John Ham, because obviously. Check out Hamm’s picks for TV’s biggest douchebags.

On Working with Child Actors

I’m very comfortable with kids. I was a teacher for quite a few years of my life and I have nieces and nephews and a lot of “friends with kids,” so I’m very comfortable working with them. They’re fun as actors because you never know what you’re going to get. They can also be tricky to work with but we got incredibly lucky. We had some of the most insanely adorable children on the planet and we were very grateful to both them and their parents for all of that.

On a Friends With Kids Inspiration

We recently lost a real prominent member of our community in Nora Ephron’s passing, who wrote some of the most insanely heartbreaking, beautiful romantic comedies, whether it’s When Harry Met Sally or Sleepless in Seattle or what have you. She was a very keen observer of what we act like when we’re around other people we like. That’s one of the things [director] Jen [Westfeldt] does very well, which is make those observations funny, emotional and interesting.

On a Potential Bridesmaids Sequel

I don’t necessarily think that sequels are always automatic. I think that Bridesmaids is a really great story and it has an end, you know? I think sometimes sequels are completely unnecessary and often disappointing, so I support [Kristen Wiig’s] choice to sort of say, “Well? I’m checked out of that, I don’t want to tell any more of that story.” She wrote it. It’s her baby and I support her decision.

On the TV Role He’d Most Like to Have

It’s interesting. I’m a huge fan of Louie and I’ve met Louis C.K. a couple times and he’s a really nice guy. I’m a massive fan of his show and he’d asked me to be on one episode I think in the first season and I wasn’t able to do it for scheduling reasons. I regret that one. That was unfortunate because I’m a big, big fan of that show.
