Prince, who died Thursday at age 57, was a man who lived by his own rules. But he did have one rule that he forced everyone to live by: when he invites you onstage to dance at one of his concerts, you’d better fucking dance like your sad, lonely life depends on it.

Reality TV star and human garbage fire Kim Kardashian learned this the hard was at a 2011 show at New York’s Madison Square Garden. After His Purpleness invited Kardashian to rock out on stage, she stood there like a dear in headlights, shaking her head “no, no no.”

Prince’s response? “Get off the stage.”
