Samsung’s Rugged New Galaxy S7 Active Will Run All Day and Take Whatever You Dish Out

It can survive underwater and comes with a shatterproof screen.

The tougher

Being “active” could be used to describe your sex life, military service or the fact that you frequently leave the house to pursue outdoor activities. Most likely leaning towards that last one, Samsung and AT&T just announced they’re releasing the Galaxy S7 active, a ruggedized version of their flagship phone.

Like the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge, it can “take on spills and splashes” by surviving in up to five feet of water for half an hour. But this new one also features a shatterproof screen, along with a ginormous 4,000mAh battery, the most capacity of any Galaxy S device. Essentially, it’s an already encased S7 you won’t have to worry about dropping or running out of juice.

Starting this Friday, June 10th, AT&T will exclusively sell the S7 active for $795, broken down into either 2 or 2 1/2 years’ worth of monthly payments, depending on which service plan you’re on.

This tough but lovable smartphone will be available in such rugged-yet-elegant color options as Sandy Gold and Titanium Gray, along with the ever-popular Camo Green.
