How To Turn Yourself Into A Zombie

Forego that sexy Hobbit costume you’ve been holding onto since last year, and transform yourself into a badass zombie.

STEP 1: PREPARE YOUR FACE

On a clean face, choose where you want your festering wound to be. Using a sponge or makeup brush, apply liquid latex or eyelash glue to the area. From there, rip up pieces of toilet paper to lay on top of the glue, keeping the middle completely open. This will be the foundation for the wound. Once settled, set with baby powder. (NOTE: This will be done multiple times throughout the process and is considered the most important step; it will stop the makeup from blending together and will spare the wound from your ungodly amounts of facial sweating. DO NOT forget this step!)

STEP 2: START THE WOUND

Build up the inner perimeter of the wound by lightly dabbing more latex on top of the existing tissue. Make sure to avoid the edges so they can be peeled back later on. Set with more baby powder. Next, find a foundation that matches your skin color (or just scavenge through your girlfriend’s makeup drawer and use what she does; that should do). With a makeup brush, dab the foundation all over the tissue, focusing on covering up the white spots. Set with powder when done.

STEP 3: MATCH THE REST OF YOUR FACE

While the foundation is drying, use a shredded sponge to apply bruising colors all over your face. Olive greens, burgundies, dark browns, and mustards work best. As always, set with baby powder. Afterwards, using a dusty purple color, contour your cheekbones to get a stellar gaunt look. Add extra color at the temples and under the eyes to make your face look extra sunken-in. Once you’re finished, take the foundation from before and lightly dab it all over your face. This will make the bruising colors look like they lay beneath the surface of your skin.

STEP 4: FINISH THE WOUND

Lift the inner edges of the wound with your fingers to make it look like your skin is flaking (yum!). Begin filling in the inner area of the wound with a bright red cream color. After the color dries, pile on some fake blood to make the wound look extra infected.

STEP 5: FEAST ON SOME FLESH

Once you set with powder one more time, you’re ready to scour the streets looking for deteriorating brains. Don’t forget napkins!

Feeling a bit confused since our zombie was of the female variety? Well, here’s what it looks like on a very agreeable male Maxim intern:
