OK, running from the cops was already a bad idea, but now you can forget about heading off-road to try to lose them Ricky Bobby-style, thanks to Ford’s new F-150 Police Responder truck.

The 375-horsepower 2018 F-150 Police Responder has a 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine and Ford SelectShift 10-speed transmission, and unlike Ricky Bobby’s Chevelle or the Duke boys‘ Charger, it has four-wheel drive for all-terrain police performance.

Ford starts with the F-150 FX4 off-road model and adds underbody skid plates, a police-calibrated brake system with upgraded calipers and pad friction material, upgraded front-stabilizer bar for improved braking and handling and 18-inch alloy wheels with all-terrain tires.

The column shifter is reverse-J-turn-friendly, making it easy to slam the truck from Reverse to Drive while keeping the right hand close to the steering wheel.

The rear seat is vinyl upholstered and the vinyl floor cuts down the the time it take police to hose out your tears of unhappiness for trying to evade them.
