A lot of guys tell you they got a new toy for Christmas, then they show you a watch that snaps awesome selfies or a phone that can DVR Shameless from the subway. That’s all good, but we like a toy that’s a toy, a man-toy, a toy you could technically give your nephew but really want to hog for yourself, a toy with wheels, a toy you can ride! That’s why Maxim’s favorite Christmas present this year was the Crazy Cart by Razor. The quick-charge electric go-kart has plenty of giddyup, and with the pull of a lever it jumps into drift mode.
And since this is Maxim, we figured we’d bring in a pro to show us just how sick a ride you could get out of the Crazy Cart. So we called up NASCAR boy wonder Kyle Larson to take it for a run over the six turns of the treacherous Maxim office circuit/obstacle course. Sure enough, the Nationwide Series rookie of the year skillfully drifted through the hairpins, skirted the beer-pong table, and avoided oblivious editors en route to shattering the office record by seven seconds.
Afterward, Kyle commented favorably on the Crazy Cart’s handling and called the run a good tune-up for his Sprint Cup season debut at Daytona in February. (Look for him in the No. 42 Target Chevy.)
The Crazy Cart sells for $400 exclusively at Toys R’ Us.
