She just dropped a first single "Rendez-Vous," and... it doesn't sound half bad. In fact, we have it on repeat and would wholeheartedly recommend it for all your sexy, late-night playlists. Check it out:
Von Teese takes you on an "Exotic holiday" with sultry English-French lyrics, synth-bass and steel-drum synth tones. The album was written and produced by French singer-songwriter Sébastien Tellier, which explains its Parisian lounge singer vibe.
"Erotic rendez-vous today/ To eat forbidden fruit/ Erotic rendez-vous, she says/ Exotic holiday," she croons.
Von Teese has been a performer since 1992, when she first began her striptease act, although she definitely made headlines back in the 2000s for her seven-year relationship with Marilyn Manson, whom she married in 2005 and divorced in 2006.
“It’s the old cliche,” Manson said at the time. “Marriage changes everything.”
But DVT told Rolling Stone recording the album was an entirely different beast than either putting up with Manson or performing her sexy burlesque shows.
"I've recorded my voice for the burlesque soundtracks I've made for my shows, but I think this is very different," she said.
"With my burlesque music, I think about visuals of the performance first, and it’s all about the glamour, the fantasy and drama. This album comes from a more vulnerable place, and ultimately, I think it’s a Sebastien Tellier album, with his distinctive style, and his perspective of who I am."
Hey, at least she's honest that it's not really her music...
Von Teese previously released an album of covers in 2016, titled "Soundtrack for Seduction," but this is her first with all-new music.
"Dita Von Teese" will be released in early 2018. We cannot wait for all the sexy music videos to come.
