11 a.m. The Waterfront (Little Italy)

The oldest bar in town and a favorite of guzzling expert Danny Wurst, Yelp.com’s San Diego community manager. Opens at 6 a.m., closes at 2 a.m. Get a Mexican breakfast special, wash it down with Bloody Marys, and chat up the “cute, but not so-cute-that-you’re-intimidated-to-talk-to-them staff,” says Wurst.

1 p.m. South Beach Bar & Grille (Ocean Beach)

Take in views of the Pacific and the OB pier as you inhale fish tacos. Remember to chew.

3 p.m. The Regal Beagle (Mission Hills)

Twenty-four ever-changing taps…Can’t make up your mind? Spin the “Wheel of Indecision.” Stop your head from spinning and eat a plate or three of their famous handmade sausages.

5 p.m. West Coast Tavern (North Park)

Kick back on the patio of this rustic joint and order a bourbon. “They have an excellent selection and make a mean Mule,” reports Wurst of the fabled bourbon-ginger beer delight. Enjoy their daily four-to-six happy hour, then try to get up and hit the next spot. We dare you.

8 p.m. 710 Beach Club (Pacific Beach)

Get your beer pong on during Tuesday game nights, hit the live-band karaoke stage, or just sit back and let an actually talented singer do the entertaining for you most other nights of the week. This place jams!
