10 Reasons To Be Happy It’s January

The holidays are over, but who cares? There’s a ton of stuff to look forward to this month!

Bruce Springsteen’s High Hopes

The Boss’s 18th studio album drops January 14th. All of High Hopes will be covers, outtakes, and different versions of past songs. This is Springsteen’s first album since Wrecking Ball in 2012… yup, sorry Miley, Brucey did it first.

Community Season 5

It’s taken forever, but Community is FINALLY back for a new season on January 2nd, which means more sexy Alison Brie and more hilarity from Ken Jeong, Donald Glover, and Joel McHale! Rejoice! There is a TV god after all!

Chozen

Chozen is a new animated series about a gay white rapper of the same name who was recently released from jail. And he’s voiced by Bobby “Drunk Uncle” Moynihan. Do we need to tell you anything else? Oh yeah – it comes to FX on January 13th.

Her

The highly anticipated Spike Jonze film starring a mustachioed Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, Chris Pratt, Amy Adams, and Scarlett Johannson tells the story of a lonely guy who falls in love with his new operating system. The digital lovefest hits theaters on January 10th. Woot!

True Detective

The more gaunt-looking the Matthew McConaughey, the better the project. At least, we think that’s the case with HBO’s new series True Detective. Premiering on January 12th, the show also stars Woody Harrelson, and hinges on the dramatic story of a hunt for a serial killer in Louisiana. Count us in.

Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit

Jack Ryan is back! This time, he’s played by Chris Pine (and joined by the always sexy Keira Knightley in the role of his wife). We have no idea who we’re more excited to see. Actually, we do. See you on January 17th, Keira. XOXO.

The 2014 Golden Globes

On January 12th, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey are back to host the first major show of awards season! We’re looking forward to more hilarious banter between the two and to see just how much the Hollywood Foreign Press liked Gravity. To make it more interesting, have a drink every time someone gets snubbed!

American Horror Story: Coven Finale

Creepy cougar Jessica Lange is going to finish off her last AHS performance with a bang – or so we hope. This month, we’ve got four more episodes to see what the hell is actually going on with all those crazy witches. The season finale is January 29th…there will (probably) be blood.

Shameless

The Gallaghers are back for a fourth season, premiering January 12th on Showtime. This season, drunkard Frank Gallagher (William H. Macy) is back from the hospital and continues to fuck up his family’s lives. Can’t wait!

Kroll Show

Nick Kroll and his ridiculous characters return to Comedy Central January 14th. We can barely contain our excitement for more Liz & Liz, Bobby Bottleservice, Ref Jeff, Fabrice Fabrice, C-Czar, and more. Happy New Year!
