The 5 Best New PlayStation Video Game Trailers

May your wallets be fat and your schedule be clear for these new releases.

Paris Games Week is well underway, and the City of Lights is awash with more video game industry folks than you can imagine. This is great news for gamers, especially since there are so many awesome titles on the horizon that we want to see more of.

Tuesday was PlayStation’s time in the sun, and the resulting deluge of trailers proves PS4 owners (and don’t forget Vita fans) are in for some pretty sweet treats. Aside from showing off the upcoming lineup of PlayStation titles we can expect to see this holiday season and beyond, the PlayStation conference dropped a few bombs in the form of new announcements. Here are the five best trailers from PlayStation’s showcase:

No Man’s Sky

Hello Games’ gorgeous space exploration simulator No Man’s Sky is equal parts zooming through space to distant parts of the universe and frolicking through alien worlds with Technicolor skies. It’s been a long time coming, but along with showing a jaw-dropping new trailer, PlayStation touted a release window for June 2016 for the PS4 exclusive.

Boundless

Boundless seemed to come out of nowhere, a surrealistic open-world sandbox title reminiscent of No Man’s Sky with the same sort of color palette and friendly NPCs to guide you on your way. It’s ambitious in ways we hadn’t yet dreamt of, and developer Wonderstruck’s debut trailer may leave you breathless rather than boundless.

MatterFall

Joining the ranks of other intriguing sci-fi titles was MatterFall, from developer Housemarque. Utilizing a bizarre alien material known as “Smart Matter,” you step into the shoes of a protagonist who’s suddenly fighting for their own survival on a decimated world. The same team behind PlayStation 4 hits like Resogun and Dead Nation are at work behind MatterFall, and this trailer really scratches the sci-fi itch that’s needed tending to for some time.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III —  “The Giant” Zombies Bonus Map

Just when you thought you’d seen the last of the

Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Zombies

excursion with the

Shadows of Evil

campaign, there’s a bonus map that springs up for you to sink your teeth into. This is a completely separate mission that you’ll get in addition to the noir styling of

Shadows of Evil

, but it looks every bit as action-packed. Campaign

who?

Detroit

Quantic Dream, who brought us the chilling

Heavy Rain

back on PlayStation 3, is back with their very first game for the PlayStation 4. It revolves around an android who sure does look a

lot

like

Jennifer Lawrence

, though after reaching out to her rep it seems it actually isn’t our favorite girl next door. Whoever it is has done an excellent job of expanding on Quantic Dream’s bizarre yet beautiful PlayStation tech demo

Kara

, and this chilling look into the future will remain with you long after you view the trailer. Don’t believe us? See for yourself.
