Brace Yourself For the Return of Wrestling Legend Bret Hart

The Hitman is back.

After nearly a year away from wrestling, spandex-wearing legend Bret “The Hitman” Hart will return to the WWE at Payback, the pay-per-view event set for May 1.

Hart’s niece Natalya announced her uncle’s return on Monday’s Raw, revealing that he’ll be in her corner during her match against Charlotte, the daughter of wrestling deity Ric Flair. The Nature Boy, you see, often interferes in his daughter’s matches, and The Hitman’s presence in Natalya’s corner is supposed to stop that.

Hart’s return will come three months after he announced that he had prostate cancer and two months after he declared himself on the path to being cancer free in an interview with WWE.com. If Hart does manage to do any wrestling at Payback, it will mean he’s made a pretty remarkable recovery from the surgery to remove his prostate. In the March 2 interview with WWE.com, he said he wasn’t allowed to lift anything more than 10 pounds. “All I can do is sit around,” he said.

If you know anything about Hart’s history with Flair though, you now that these two old-timers won’t be able to stand in the corners and watch though. Here’s hoping for one more sharpshooter.
