This Fake Star Wars: The Force Awakens Poster Is a Crime Against Decency

For the love of God, no.

The official promo poster for Star War: The Force Awakens dropped on Sunday. It took less than 24 hours for someone to turn it into the stuff of nightmares.

No. Just no. Let’s not even joke about this. After the tragic, soul-crushing disappointment of the prequel trilogy (which is remembered only for “from my point of view it is the Jedi who are evil!” and other acts of cinematic inhumanity), too many Star Wars fans are bracing themselves for the possibility of yet another butchering of the beloved franchise. Jar-Jar Binks, the animated equivalent of blackface, is a dark mark on the entire Star Wars universe, an eterntal source of existential anxiety and fear, and he should be banished to the bowels of history just like the extended Jabba’s palace sequence in the remastered Return of the Jedi. This poster is a hilarious twist of the knife, a horror that not even H.P. Lovecraft could have imagined.

No. Just no. For the love of God, no.
