Foo Fighters Cancel European Tour in Response to Paris Attacks
The announcement came hours after U2 called off their Paris concert.
Foo Fighters just announced that they have canceled the remainder of their European tour in response to last night’s horrific terrorist attacks on Paris, which killed 127 people including more than 80 at an Eagles of Death Metal concert.
The Seattle-based rockers broke the news to fans in a somber Facebook post: “It is with profound sadness and heartfelt concern for everyone in Paris that we have been forced to announce the cancelation of the rest of our tour. In light of this senseless violence, the closing of borders, and international mourning, we can’t continue right now. There is no other way to say it. This is crazy and it sucks. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone who was hurt or who lost a loved one.”

Foo Fighters nixed the remaining four dates of their European tour the day before they were due to perform in Turin, Italy, near the French Alps. They were scheduled for two shows in Paris next week: at Bercy Arena on Monday and Halle Tony Garnier on Tuesday before a final show in Barcelona on November 19th.
This news comes just hours after U2 called off a performance planned for Saturday night in Paris, which was to be filmed as part of an upcoming HBO special.
In a statement from Paris, U2 said, “We watched in disbelief and shock at the unfolding events in Paris and our hearts go out to all the victims and their families across the city tonight. We are devastated at the loss of life at the Eagles of Death Metal concert and our thoughts and prayers are with the band and their fans. And we hope and pray that all of our fans in Paris are safe.”
