Nicki Minaj Is Getting Her Own Comedy Show

Nicki Minaj is definitely hilarious. Did you not know? Aside from being a super talented rapper who writes all of her own verses, she’s sharp as a tack when it comes to humor as well. Need we remind you of her “Miley, what’s good” takedown at the MTV Video Music Awards at the end of August? Pure comedic gold. 

This week it was announced that the rapper will be executive producing, and appearing in, an ABC Family Comedy Series about her life growing up in Queens. The pilot is set to be filmed this winter in Minaj’s hometown. 

“Nicki Minaj is a force to be reckoned with at everything she touches,” said ABC Family’s EVP Programming and Development Karey Burke. “Nicki is an international superstar, yet not everyone knows how inspiring and hilarious her true story is, and we can’t wait to share it with the world.”

Little known fact about Minaj: she studied acting  at Manhattan’s prestigious LaGuardia High School and originally pursued the trade before switching focus to concentrate on her blossoming music career.
