Brandon McCarthy pitches some jokes at his Twitter followers

Let’s get this out of the way: no one wants to see some poor dude get a line drive drilled into his melon. That said, if Brandon McCarthy hadn’t had his skull fractured while on the mound for the Oakland A’s last week – sending him to hospital in critical condition — we might never have discovered what a hilarious guy he is. Just days after he was fighting for his life, the big hurler took to Twitter and assured his followers that he was able to set his fantasy lineups before going down. After that came a stream of observations about painkillers, personal hygiene and pissing in a bucket. Yesterday, McCarthy was finally released from the hospital, and went out with a bang:

McCarthy is out for the rest of the season, but hey, that’ll just give him more time to keep us entertained.
