Pageant girls are known for their elegance, grace, and ability to rock a bathing suit, so it’s no wonder Jessica Rafalowski was crowned Miss Florida in 2008. Since then the leggy stunner has racked up several additional titles, including our personal favorite: 2010 Beach Bunny Swimwear Model Search winner! Get to know the beauty queen turned official bikini babe.
Is it true you won Miss Florida without any prior pageant experience?
Yes! My friends were always away on the weekends doing pageant stuff, and finally they were like, "Why don’t you just do it with us so you can be part of it?" I got a bathing suit and a dress and ended up winning.
Wow, your friends must have been pissed!
They weren’t very happy at first, but I think it changed their perspective on how to compete in these pageants. It’s more about being natural. When I see those girls on Toddlers & Tiaras, I’m like, “Are you kidding me?” When I was five, I was playing in the dirt with Ninja Turtles!
Now that you’re an authority on swimwear, is it ever OK for a guy to wear a Speedo?
That is not something I want to see! I’m attracted to manly men who also have strong morals, like a UFC fighter with a heart of gold.
You’ve also won Miss Polonia World. What makes you proudest of your Polish heritage?
Definitely the attitude. Polish people love to eat, drink, and be merry. I’m a really healthy person, but when I go back home, I’ll always have vodka and pierogies.
Besides pierogies, do you have any other guilty pleasures?
I’d definitely have to stick with food! I love cooking. On the weekend you'll find me online looking up recipes.
What would you cook for us?
I’m obsessed with macaroni and cheese! I’ll do an organic version with whole-wheat pasta and think I’m not being too bad.
You probably aren’t—you’re in amazing shape!
Well, I love going to the gym. I don’t take classes or anything like that; I’ll just find something heavy and go at it. As long as I’m panting and really sore at the end of the workout, I’m good!
