Here’s What Russian Lumberjacks Apparently Do For Fun

I have no idea what’s going on in this video, and I love it.

I have a confession: I have no fucking idea what’s happening in this video. The thing turned up on Reddit Monday afternoon, described only as “the most Russian video you will see this week,” and the title isn’t far off. The amateur video appears to show a group of Russian lumberjacks goofing around with a flaming torch and a tractor in the middle of a (Siberian?) forest. See for yourself:

It sort of looks like World War II roleplay, I suppose. One lumberjack crawls beneath a moving tractor, torch in hand before torching the back of the thing. An industrious Redditor offers a rough translation: “From what the guys were shouting, it was a recreation of a brave Russian destroying a German tanks. [The phrase] ‘niemcy yabany, sukie’ was used a lot which means ‘fucking Germans.’ At the end when the driver “hung out” the man yelled ‘Pizdiec tankistu, nakhuy’ which mean ‘It’s over for the tanker, Nakhuy.” 

It sort of reminds me of this quick tank scene from Captain America: The First Avenger, when Steve Rogers and his Howling Commandos start tearing shit up across Europe. Skip to 0:57 to see what I’m talking about:

Maybe these guys should shell out for that fully-functional battle tank to make their war games a bit more realistic. Or just more fire. Either way.
