2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best thing about being a NBA dancer is getting to perform in front of thousands of screaming fans. The worst thing is the pre-game food they feed us...not a huge fan of Meatloaf Surprise!"

It was probably a huge accomplishment to become a NBA dancer, now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next dream or goal?

"It's been a dream of mine my entire life to dance for the NBA. We get so many incredible opportunities. My next dream is to become a touring backup dancer for Justin Timberlake. I’ve already danced with Vanilla Ice and Montel Jordan, so JT is the next logical step!"

What’s the craziest thing a dude’s ever done to hit on you? In or out of stadium?

"I just recently was asked out in a Wal-Mart checkout line. He had a missing tooth, and was buying baby food...for the baby he had with him! He asked me out so loud, the entire line of 15 people started clapping...I thought Ashton Kutcher was going to jump out and say ‘You just got Punk’d!'"

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are the best to dance and cheer for because when we beat L.A. and get to The Finals this season, we will be the best in the West!"

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"It would have to be Shaq because he has the best dance moves in NBA History....trust me, just YouTube it! The guy is 7’1” and danced with the Jabbawockeez come on!"

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"One of the best things about being an NBA dancer would have to be all of the opportunities that you receive off of the court, (i.e. traveling and charity work). One of my fondest memories of dancing for the Nuggets was during the 2007 season when I traveled to Europe and performed for our troops. It was truly a life-changing experience.
The worst thing is fighting the misconceptions and stereotypes of professional dancers. Our team is filled with beautiful, talented and intelligent women. We work very hard on and off the court to represent the Nuggets organization positively and professionally.

Who’s the hottest on-screen cheerleader?

"Easy, Ali Larter – Varsity Blues, hello whipped cream bikini!"

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"I definitely love a good night out on the town with friends. But, I also can’t turn down a nice night in sweats, curled up on my couch, watching DVD seasons of Friends or The Office with pizza & wine!"

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are by far the best team to cheer for because really, who else has rainbow throw backs?"

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"The one and only “Mr. Big Shot” - Chauncey Billups. He’s a Denver native, played for my alum, CU (Go Buffs!), and he was The Finals MVP in 2004 when he helped the Pistons win the NBA championship. I have a tremendous amount of respect for his leadership on the court as well as his dedication to give back off it. But, he really earned my love when he threw the off-the-back pass off Kobe Bryant last year in the Western Conference Finals, Kobe’s face was priceless!"

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best thing about being an NBA dancer is dancing in front of thousands of fans. The most challenging thing about being a NBA dancer is balancing school and family life with my dance schedule."

It was probably a huge accomplishment to become a NBA dancer, now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next dream or goal?

"I would like to open up my own dance studio some day!"

What’s the craziest thing a dude’s ever done to hit on you? In or out of stadium?

"I once had a guy write on a baseball 'Can I have your number,' and hit it over at me in the middle of the game. It was very embarrassing!"

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"Denver is the best team to cheer for because we have amazing fans that not only support our players, but us dancers as well!"

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Michael Jordan. Not only was he the greatest basketball player of all time, but the way he played his games was unlike any other professional basketball player."

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"I would have to say the best thing about being an NBA dancer is all of the amazing opportunities we are given. Last year we were given the chance to dance with Vanilla Ice, Montell Jordan, C&C Music Factory, Lisa Lisa at a few Nuggets home games. I never would have imagined being able to dance with any musical artists in my entire life! The worst thing is the drive to and from practices, games and appearances. I live about 1 ½ hours away from Denver. so I make the trip back and forth about three to five times a week! With a gas-guzzler SUV, it’s a little pricey, but it is definitely worth the time and gas money."

Jock or Nerd. Which one would you really rather settle down with?

"That’s kind of a toughie. I definitely wouldn’t be able to handle a jock if he was just into sports. If I did settle down with a jock, he would need to have the brains too! I could settle down with a nerd for sure. Hopefully he would be hilarious though. My older brother is a mechanical engineer, so I'm used to being around a few bookworms (all in good fun). If he could tell me all about the chemical table and also be a sports junkie, we would definitely have a winner!"

Who’s the hottest on-screen cheerleader?

"Honestly, the hottest on-screen cheerleader has to be Mary Katherine Gallagher from the greatest movie, Superstar. She has taught us all what to do when we get nervous and is an inspiration to all dancers…! (haha)"

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are the best because Denver is such an awesome city! The fans in Denver are great and it’s the mile high city! The Nuggets also have such a great team going this year. The players each have their own individual uniqueness about them and they are just amazing to watch on the court. They had such a great year last year, and it's exciting to see what they have in store for us this year! NBA champions in the making… we hope!"

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Definitely Bill Russell. With eleven NBA championships, who wouldn’t be impressed? I would assume he's an icon for many NBA all stars today. He was so talented and I have so much respect for him."

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best part is the people! We get to meet and work with so many awesome people, and of course the girls on the team are all amazing, beautiful, talented women (and they aren't even paying me to say that!). The worst part is hands down the off season!"

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"I like to get out there and experience life. Right now a lot of my nightlife involves homework, but if the local pub is having 80s night tonight...homework will be there in the morning."

What’s the worst cheerleading injury you’ve ever had?

"A broken pompom...just kidding. I'm lucky to have never had a bad injury from dancing. Now injuries from trying to walk up the stairs, that's another story."

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"Denver is such a great city and Colorado has some wonderful fans. The team is awesome but it's really the fans that makes the Nuggets the best team to cheer for."

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"J.R. Smith because aside from being a great player, he is so funny! My teammates and I have caught him a couple times dancing or even bowing to the fans after fouling out of a game. It's obivious that he really enjoys life, and I think that's an awesome quality for someone to have in a role model position like he is."

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best part would be the seats we get at every game. You can’t beat front row courtside. The worst would be the occasional spilled beer down your back from the drunk guy sitting courtside behind you."

What’s the craziest thing a dude’s ever done to hit on you? In or out of stadium?

"Once at a game, a guy thought it would be a great idea to pull my hair as I walked by in order to get my attention. The funny thing was, even after I turned around with a look of disgust on my face, he smiled and winked, as if the whole thing was going to turn into a charming story for the grandkids one day."

When you’re not dancing, where can people find you?

"Snowboarding! I try and snowboard as much as I can in the winter when we don’t have games. Otherwise, you can find me at the gym."

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"It's Denver, and everything is better a mile high."

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Michael Jordan. But mainly because of his appearance on SNL in 1991. Classic!"

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best thing about being an NBA dancer is being able to do something I love in front of large audiences, while also getting the opportunity to serve in the community. The worst part is that I know it’s not going to last forever and I will eventually have to give it up with age."

It was probably a huge accomplishment to become a NBA dancer, now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next dream or goal?

"My next goal is to graduate from the University of Denver with a degree in Biochemistry and be accepted into a graduate program for pharmacy."

What’s the nightlife for you? Stay in and relax, or it’s the weekend, bring back college?

"My life is about balance. Since I’m in college, I absolutely love going out with my friends, but I choose to dedicate much of my time to studying and creating a future that I'm proud of."

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are a very solid, well-followed team with awesome fans. The fans are full of energy, and make every game exciting to be at."

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"KG, Kevin Garnett. He played for the Timberwolves, my hometown team, when I was a kid and I have followed him ever since. He brought the fans to the games and brought that energy that is seen at every Nuggets game."

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The absolute best thing about being a NBA dancer is the fans! Without a doubt. I know every dancer says that, but it's so true. The energy we get from the stands is, to say the least, exhilarating. I remember being a little girl and looking up to the dancers. Staring at their every move, and being amazed at how pretty they were, and how they all seemed to move at the same time. Now, we get to see little girls look at us that way everyday, and it is so touching. The worst thing about being an NBA dancer, is really just the stress of maintaining our regular lives. On top of practicing, things can get really hectic with school, work and family. Sometimes my friends and family start to feel neglected, but we are working on a way to have some time together. Being an NBA dancer is definitely a learning process, and it's so worth the work!"

Who’s the hottest on-screen cheerleader?

"My favorite is by far Eliza Dushku from Bring it On. She's absolutely hot! She played that part perfectly. I think she was a bit like me. Quite spicy!"

What’s the craziest thing a dude’s ever done to hit on you? In or out of stadium?

"It was around Valentine’s Day back in high school, and I had an extra bag of Hershey’s kisses. I walked around to everyone and asked, 'Would you like a kiss,' (making puns were the highlight of my days). So, he kissed me! Planted one right on my lips. I said, 'I meant a chocolate kiss!' He said, 'I would have thought you meant yourself either way.' It was so strange, but so clever."

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"Denver is the best team to cheer for, because we have loyal fans, a wild mascot, and some animated players! I honestly love the Nuggets fans. The crowd absolutely roars for these players! It's so amazing to be a part of. Our mascot Rocky is definitely the best I've ever come across. He's hilarious! There's no other word for him. He gets the crowd on their feet, and the players keep them there."

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Definitely Michael Jordan. I had the pleasure of meeting him once in Chicago, and he was honestly the most sincere, nice guy. He was so happy to meet us and take pictures with us. Not only was he great off the court, but of course on the court! He blew us all away with how he pulled his team together, and the skills he brought to the table. I feel that our own Chauncey Billups, is walking in his footsteps! Go Nuggets!"

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best is all the amazing experiences and opportunities it offers. The worst thing is all the stereotypes that are attached to the title of being a cheerleader."

It was probably a huge accomplishment to become a NBA dancer, now that you’ve reached this, what’s your next dream or goal?

"Of course I want to keep dancing and let that take me as far as it can, but I also love fashion design and event planning. A job (or multiple jobs) where I could do all or any off those three things would be a dream come true."

Jock or Nerd. Which one would you really rather settle down with?

"A nerdy Jock. I like when men are athletic and take care of their bodies, but it means nothing to me if they have nothing going on upstairs."

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are back on the rise! The energy and passion for the team here in Denver is unbelievable. Plus, who doesn’t love Birdman!"

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Alex English! Not only was he the highest scoring player of his time, he really knew how to rock those old school short shorts!"

2009 Denver Nuggets Dancers-

What’s the best and worst thing about being a NBA dancer?

"The best is having the opportunity to dance for thousands of people at the best sports games in the country. The pending debilitation my neck will face in the years to come is probably the worst!"

Jock or Nerd. Which one would you really rather settle down with?

"A nerd...hands down. Jock's bore me to tears, if we're talking stereotypically. The deterioration of the body happens faster than that of the mind, and I'd like to go for longevity."

What’s the worst cheerleading injury you’ve ever had?

"Last year during playoffs a dancer kicked my finger and my nail bent all the way back, ripping the top layer of my skin off with it!"

Why is your team the best to cheer for?

"The Nuggets are the best team to cheer for because they not only possess the talent that makes the game interesting to watch, but they have passion like no other NBA team."

Who is your all-time favorite NBA player? Why?

"Larry Bird, Larry Bird, Larry Bird! He's the smartest, most versatile player of all time. With a nickname like 'Kodak' he has to be the best."
