Miley Cyrus and The Flaming Lips Cover “Lucy In the Sky With Diamonds”

TFL members Wayne Coyne and Steven Drozd joined the former Hot 100 #1 onstage at the Billboard Awards last night for a slowed-down version of the Beatles hit.

Glitter, face paint, and crotch tinsel took over ABC last night as a mellow Miley Cyrus and typically weird Wayne Coyne collided on the LSD anthem “Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds.” The two seemingly unlikely collaborators sounded great on this creepy-slow version of the song, and Cyrus looked right at home, covered in crazy makeup and streamers. Also, Coyne kissed Miley’s feet, which was strange.


The Flaming Lips are set to release a Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band tribute album entitled With a Little Help From My Fwends in October. However, you can pre-order the record now and get a download of the “Lucy” cover, which features Moby, in addition to the Bangerz queen.


Other highlights at the Billboard Awards included a holographic Michael Jackson performance, a sexy duet from Iggy Azalea and Ariana Grande, and seven wins for Justin Timberlake.
