Super Mario 64 In HD Is A Nostalgic Joy

Nintendo could make a lot of gold coins by actually producing this.

An industrious Unity user named Roystan Ross put together an HD version of the first level of Super Mario 64, and boy is it beautiful.

Unlike the first few Super Mario games, whose basic graphics were cartoonish enough to stand the test of time, Super Mario 64 really pops from the HD upgrade. Bob-Omb Battlefield has never, ever looked so good. Ross had made the entire level playable, but Nintendo asked him to take it down due to copyright infringement. Fair enough, but how about Nintendo actually goes ahead and does this? I’m sure Super Mario 64 HD would find its way into the hands of every 25-40 year-old longing for the good old days of the mid-nineties.
