The Bar at Rosewood, London, England

London’s hottest opening right now is The Bar at The Rosewood Hotel. It’s decadent and grand without feeling intimidating, and BarChick has fallen head over heels. The bar is done up like a plush library or an old-school gentleman’s club, the kind you could whittle away whole days inside. There’s a relaxed feel, making it a hotspot for great dates thanks to the sexy and flattering glow of those beautiful bar-top lamps. You and your date will also be serenaded with some live music, and nothing says sexy like some smooth jazz.

Take a seat on one of the many armchairs or sofas, although for the best seat in the house, try and hold down the area by the roaring fire. If you’re feeling social, perch on one of the 16 tall bar stools and make nice with the bartenders. Yes, some of them are female. And hot. On the drinks front, it’s all about the gin and whisky selection – unsurprising, as the classic vibe here begs to be accompanied by a vintage cocktail like a Manhattan or a Clover Club. If you’re feeling rebellious, get your Mexican on and try the Hats Off mezcal cocktail, which is one of BarChick’s favorites for a wild night. You’ll be pleased to hear that the luxurious setting doesn’t come with a high price tag to match; considering its star rating, The Rosewood is damn reasonable for a hotel bar, with cocktails coming in for a little under £10 (around $15) and accompanied by some awesome bar snacks – the free pink wasabi peas are not to be missed.
