Gargantuan Gator ‘Chubbs’ Captured on Houston Golf Course

When life imitates Happy Gilmore. 

Underrated American actor Carl Weathers has played many memorable characters on screens both big and small, but only one has an alligator named after it. Meet Chubbs, a 12-foot, 600-pound gator caught on a golf course outside of Houston and named after Weathers’ character in Happy Gilmore.

Captured by a pair of Alligator Nuisance Control Hunters — talk about an exciting career — this gator will be transported to an alligator sanctuary, where it will live out its life undisturbed by the errant shots of garbage golfers. Which is a good thing. Run into the wrong guy and he might have lost an eye.
