Watch Michael Fassbender Battle His Way Through Time In New ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Trailer

It’s the most violent trailer yet for the popular video game adaptation.

Michael Fassbender swaps out his magnetic X-Men powers for a lethal array of throwing knives and hidden kukri blades in the on-screen adaptation of popular video game, Assassin’s Creed.

The Oscar nom stars as Callum Lynch, a man sent back to 15th century Spain courtesy of renowned technology that uncovers his hidden roots with a secret assassin society. While experiencing the past adventures of his descendant, Aguilar, Callum uses his newfound skills to take on the opposing Templar organization set on destruction in the present day. 

The brand new footage teases Fassender’s penchant for ass kicking, hinting at an inevitable fight to the death that we’ll surely see by the film’s end.

Christmas is about to get a whole lot better, as Assassin’s Creed makes its way to theaters on December 21.
