Go Back In Time With Back To The Future Documentary Trailer

Gentleman, start your DeLorean engines.

The future is almost here: In anticipation of its October 21 premiere, the Back to the Future documentary Back In Time gives us a first taste of the behind-the-scenes look at the 1985 time-traveling hit that made Michael J. Fox a megastar and caused a run on Calvin Klein tighty whities (probably).

Fox joins talking heads Steven Spielberg, director Robert Zemeckis, Lea Thompson (Marty McFly’s mother Lorraine) and Christopher Lloyd (Doc Brown) who reflect on the making of Back to the Future and its massive cultural impact. (Crispin Glover, sadly, appears to be a no-show.) Back In Time also looks into the world of Back to the Future superfandom, including those who worked with Future screenwriter Bob Gale to restore the original DeLorean time machine.

And as superfans already know, October 21 is the day Doc Brown and Marty McFly visit in Back to the Future 2 to prevent Marty from going to jail. Bonus: the trailer hints at a discussion of the rather incestuous element of the movie, which we really do need to talk about.
