Anticipation is growing for the March 25, 2016 premiere of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. So just as our screens were filled with wall-to-wall teasers for Star Wars: The Force Awakens at the end of 2015, it's natural to expect much more Superman, Batman (and Wonder Woman and Aquaman) to come.
The first TV spot for the film debuted Saturday, and it's a study in only hinting at the drama to come. Batman drives the Bat Mobile straight into the Man of Steel. Then the sort of thing that seems inevitable when you try to ram your car into a guy who can toss buildings around and has "Steel" in his nickname occurs.
Fire and flying ensue.
This movie is already controversial among fans—a simple google search reveals as many skeptical articles and posts about its likely quality as enthusiastic anticipation.
We'll just say we're pretty damned curious. And Henry Cavill's Superman is pretty good at throwing shade at the end of the spot with nothing but a withering look. And, you know, flying.
