Beatles Fans Are Amazed by Paul McCartney Writing ‘Get Back’ in Minutes in Disney+ Documentary

A fascinating clip from the film shows McCartney’s pop genius at work.

For those of us who binged the three-part, eight-hour Beatles docuseries on Disney+ directed by Lord of the Rings helmer (and Beatles superfan) Peter Jackson, a few things were apparent.

George Harrison sometimes bristled at being in the band, John Lennon was a zany cut-up, Ringo kept out of everyone’s way, and Paul McCartney was the workaholic creative force during their January 1969 recording sessions in preparation for a surprise rooftop concert in London. (And it should be noted that an ever-present Yoko Ono is never seen intruding on Beatles sessions aside from singing with the Fab 4 on a few screechy jams.)

But some fans are still marveling about how easily McCartney, then 27, seemed to compose the structure of the classic song, “Get Back” in a matter of minutes.

Per Uproxx:

One clip from the film that keeps making the rounds on Twitter features a young McCartney messing around on his guitar, trying to make something out of nothing.

And then he actually does — turning nonsense vocals and sorta riffs into the bare bones of the song “Get Back” (which the documentary is named for) in about two minutes.

Watch the amazing moment here, and check out the Get Back trailer above.
