Watch the Ultra-Violent Trailer for ‘Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered’

This is better than most Hollywood flicks.

The award-winning Call of Duty series has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a first-person shooter set on the Nazi-filled battlefields of the western front during World War II.

First, the shoot ’em up series took a chance when it shifted the game’s setting to the year 2011 in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, which ended up being one of the most critically acclaimed installments of the entire franchise.

The success in moving the story to the modern battlefield prompted the game’s creators to churn out hit game after game—all of which were set in the present or future—with the exception of Call of Duty: World at War.

With that said, video game publisher Activision is revamping the original Modern Warfare for current-gen consoles, and, by god, the trailer looks absolutely beautiful.

The game may have seemed tricked-out when it launched back in 2007, but considering all of the gizmos and gadgets available in the last few games of the series, it now looks more like a welcome return to a simpler time, when you only needed a few customizable weapons to annihilate your enemies.

The game will be available November 11 on PS4, Xbox One and PC a week after the release of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare
