Watch Carly Rae Jepsen’s Dreamy New Video For ‘Your Type’

Jepsen is a star in her own mind in this hyper-surreal, danceable video.

When Carly Rae Jepsen‘s third album, E•MO•TION, came out last summer, many called it her best one yet. In Pitchfork’s review of it they refer to the release as “as solid and spotless a pop album as you’re likely to hear this year,” and now her brand new video for the track “Your Type” is getting everyone pumped all over again.

In the video she portrays a down on her luck woman who sings songs at a dive bar — which is pretty true to life for most musicians out there just trying to live the dream. Her moments on stage, even though no one at the bar seems to pay her much mind, fill her with life force, and she divas it up in true star form. Watching this with the right mindset could leave you with the PMA needed to keep on with whatever you’re trying to do, which is a great and rare thing to take away from a music video.
