The Carolina Butcher Is Your Worst Nightmare

This prehistoric beast pre-dated the dinosaurs and wreaked havoc in the Carolinas. 

Crocodiles, the terrifying carnivorous beasts who famously lent their name to the ugliest footwear known to man, were once even more terrifying. Lindsay Zanno of the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences came across the fossilized remains of a gigantic reptile with bipedal tendencies. She and her team named their discovery the carnufex carolinensis or, The Carolina Butcher. The Butcher was nine feet long and roamed around the Carolinas on two legs, fucking shit up. Good thing they went extinct over 200 million years ago.
