Report: Conor McGregor and Holly Holm Will Appear on the Same UFC Card
This is going to be good.
Stock up on gauze boys and girls, UFC 197 is going to be bloody.
Both featherweight champ Conor McGregor and women’s bantamweight champ Holly Holm will headline the event in Las Vegas, which will be held on March 5th, according to Bleacher Report’s Jermey Botter.
Our prediction for the fights? Pain.
McGregor, who took the featherweight title from Jose Aldo in 13 seconds last December, will reportedly pack on a few pounds to fight Rafael dos Anjos. The Brazilian is the current lightweight champ, meaning McGregor will have the opportunity to walk out of the ring in early March with two different belts from two different weight classes.
Meanwhile, Holm will defend the belt that she snatched from Ronda Rousey at UFC 193 in a fight with Miesha Tate. A career 17-5 fighter, Tate hasn’t lost since Rousey made her submit with a third round armbar in late 2013. With a Holm/Rousey rematch tentatively set for UFC 200, it’s little wonder who we’ll be pulling for in this one.
It should be noted that the UFC hasn’t confirmed any of this yet, but they will soon, so we’ll go ahead and start the countdown. As of Friday, only 56 days until the biggest card in UFC history.
