Your long-awaited second fight against Marloes Coenen is happening this weekend – how do you see the match going?
I trained hard, so I’m ready for any situation – stand up or jujitsu. I like stand up, I like Muay Thai. I’m ready for any situation.
How would you most like to win? Knockout? Submission?
I would be happy with any situation, but I’ll try for knockout.
What’s your game plan for achieving that?
My game is to win! I can’t say my game… [laughs]
Who is the toughest opponent you’ve faced in your career so far?
In every fight, I learn something from the girls. Gina [Carano] is good, Yoko Takarashi is good.
You once choked a journalist unconscious during an interview – was that a career highlight for you?
It’s a play, you know. We make a lot of funny videos, I like the video. It’s not a true video, it’s a play, joking.
So he wasn’t really unconscious?
No, I really choked him, but he knew it was going to happen.
What kind of opponent do you most enjoy fighting? Strikers?Grapplers?
In MMA? Strikers. I like them, they’re more exciting to watch. But I can fight strikers and grapplers.
Do you have a preferred striking move?
Punching in the face!
That sounds so straightforward when you say it like that.
It’s my favorite!
AND NOW: THE SAME 10 QUESTIONS WE ALWAYS ASK EVERYONE!
What was the last thing you had to apologize for?
A mistake.
What’s your favorite curse word?
WTF. What the fuck!
How about in Portuguese?
No, only in English! Portuguese has a lot of bad words [laughs].
What is the worst hangover you’ve ever had?
After a fight.
What was your first car?
From Brazil. A Fiesta.
Do you have a scar that tells a story?
On my foot – when I was 2-years-old, I walked in the street and a car ran over my foot.
Do you have a party trick?
I don’t know.
Punching people in the face, maybe?
Yeah, maybe. But that’s only funny for me!
What’s the biggest thing you’ve ever put in your mouth?
Some sushi.
What’s the one thing to remember in a fist fight?
I need to win.
Who was the last person to see you naked?
My ex-husband.
Finish this sentence: If I ruled the world for a day, I would:
Change people’s minds so they believed in God.
