The Daily Heat Index: The Girl on the Train is Turning Into an All-Star Cast

Plus, JT writes a late-night intro, we take a tour of Pluto, and our favorite Muppets reunite for a chat.

Here’s your daily dose of what’s heating up the internet:

The Cast of The Girl on the Train is Stacked

Following the book’s immediate rise to #1 on multiple best seller lists, it’s no surprise that the upcoming film adaptation is set to follow suit thanks to the stellar actors its nabbed. After confirmation of Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, and Haley Bennett as our three unreliable lady narrators, it’s now said that Chris Evans and Jared Leto will round-out the cast as the two male leads. These two would add an extremely great dynamic the film, and would only attract so many more people to the box office. When’s the last time you saw Captain America without his shield?

A View from Above

We’ve already shown you some killer stills of Pluto from NASA’s New Horizons probe, but one intrepid YouTuber is stitching those images together to create an aerial fly-over tour of that cute lil’ hunk of ice rock. Enjoy the furthest reaches of the solar system from your couch, ya’ll.

Justin Timberlake Gets Clever for Late Night

Justin Timberlake breaks up with Jimmy Fallon by publicly announcing that Seth Myers is his favorite talk show host (we think he was kidding) and pitching a theme song he wrote for the show.

Kermit and Miss Piggy Talk it Out

In the first time since their

very public break-up

, Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy did a joint interview on

Jimmy Kimmel Live

. Needless to say, things got pretty weird. “The breakup of the Soviet Union didn’t get as much coverage as your breakup did,” notes the late night host. “And rightfully so,” explains Piggy, who later refers to herself as “the Donald Trump of love.” Watch the clip to meet Kermit’s new girlfriend, Denise (the head of marketing at NBC, naturally), and see MP’s new Tinder profile. Pig in a blanket, anyone?
