The Daily Heat Index: Matthew McConaughey Is Interested In Returning To ‘True Detective’
But would Rust Cohle be enough to revitalize the sagging show?
Here’s a daily dose of what’s heating up the internet:
“I Miss Rust Cohle”
HBO’s poorly received second season of True Detective may have proved that you shouldn’t push too much of a good thing. Though it seems pretty much everyone is over Nic Pizzolatto’s anthology series, first season standout Matthew McConaughey recently admitted he’s not done playing down-and-out detective Rust Cohle just yet. “I miss Rust Cohle, man,” McConaughey said on The Rich Eisen Show. “I miss watching him on Sunday nights. I miss watching True Detective on Sunday nights.…I was a happy man when we made that for six months, because I was on my own island.” As the role earned the actor an Emmy nom, it’s no surprise he’s itching for another go-around at it– and frankly, we’d be down to see it.

A Brand New Transformer
On the heels of an announcement title for the latest Transformers film, director Michael Bay recently tweeted out an image revealing a brand new robot in disguise: Squeeks. While the rusty Vespa looks like it’d be no match against Megatron, at least it’s suitable for brand new character Izabella, played by newcomer Isabella Moner. Transformers: The Last Knight is set to hit theaters on June 23, 2017.
Who Ya Gonna Call?
Along with an updated all-female cast, Ghostbusters has enlisted Fall Out Boy and Missy Elliott for a new spin on the iconic theme song. While it may not appeal to fans of the 1984 classic who have been pooh-poohing the remake, it can definitely be used to scare a few ghosts or two. Listen above:
