The Daily Heat: Ronda Rousey Picks Her Next Opponent
Fetty breaks a chart-topping record, a Marvel show gets a spinoff, and we start placing bets on Ronda’s next big fight.
Here’s your daily dose of what’s heating up the internet:
MMA All the Way
Ronda Rousey’s next fight is set, but unless you’re an MMA addict you’ve likely never heard of her opponent, Holly Holm. That changes now. Holm is a decorated former boxer who’s relatively new to the octagon, but that doesn’t mean she’ll be a pushover. Rousey says the 33-year-old fighter is her “biggest challenge to date” and some experts are even giving Holm a chance if she can stay at her feet and pound away at Rousey’s face. Even if you don’t care about MMA, you don’t want that to happen.
LEGOs Make Everything Better
Jurassic World got some heat from critics: Chris Pratt’s over-acting, the bloated special effects, Bryce Dallas Howard’s inexplicable high heels. So if you’re thinking twice about buying it when it comes to DVD, your prayers have been answered: behold this live-action LEGO version that boils down the entire over-wrought plot to just 90 seconds of dino-filled glory.
‘Mockingbird’ Nabs Her Own Spinoff
After deliberations as to whether or not Bobbi Morse (Adrianne Palicki) deserves her own show, it seems as though ABC has had a change of heart. There’s no premiere date, but it’s been said the show will follow Morse and fellow S.H.I.E.L.D agent, Lance Hunter as they get entangled in their own bouts of Marvel mayhem. Frankly, any excuse for more screen-time with our former Maxim cover girl is fine with us.

I’m Like Hey, What’s Up, Hello
With a debut album on the way in October and the MTV Video Music awards next week — for which he’s doubly nominated — Fetty Wap is sitting pretty. Today, Billboard has announced the artist makes history as the first musician in their 26-year history to chart their first four entrees in the top 10 simultaneously. His new release “Again” debuts at number 8 on the Hot Rap Songs chart, joining “Trap Queen,” “My Way” and “679” sitting at 2, 3 and 5 respectively.
