His Holiness the Dalai Lama Says He’s Down With a Female Dalai Lama as Long as She’s Hot

And now people are mad.

The Dalai Lama has widely been regarded as fairly chill. But now, his Holiness is under fire for some comments he made to the BBC.

When asked if there could be a female Dalai Lama, the monk said, “if a female Dalai Lama comes, their face should be very attractive.”

Reporter Clive Myrie laughed, then asked “So you can only have a female Dalai Lama if they’re attractive? Is that what you’re saying?”

And taking it all the way, the Dalai Lama, who is a self-proclaimed feminist, confirmed,  “I mean if female Dalai Lama come, then that female must be very attractive, otherwise not much use.”

Hoo boy. Respected holy figures: they’re horny, just like us! 

The male feminist is receiving a reasonable amount of flack for his comments, while I’m sure Pope Francis is smiling softly, his spot as coolest religious leader solidified for now.


As for me? I believe that what he said is pretty deplorable. But then I think of that white girl in my college anthropology seminar who collected Tibetan prayer flags, retweeted the Dalai Lama on the reg, and was “spiritual but not religious,” finding out about this news and my face does this.
