The latest chapter of the Star Wars saga just wouldn't be complete without a little masked heavy breathing. That's right, menacing galaxy destroyer Darth Vader returns to the Star Wars universe when spin-off movie Rogue One hits theaters December 16th.
While it hasn't been said as to what capacity the film will utilize the Sith Lord, or if he will be the central antagonist, his confirmed appearance by Entertainment Weekly does make complete sense as the plot focuses on rebel Jyn Erso (Felicity Jones) and crew's attempt to steal plans of the infamous Death Star.
Rogue One recently made headlines for not living up to its predecessors, forcing it to endure four weeks of expensive reshoots. News of Vader returning to the fold, plus all the Star Wars information EW has to offer, may be just what the beleaguered flick needs to revive the hype it once had.
Let's hope Rogue One is way more than a mediocre knock-off that was better kept in a galaxy far, far away.
