EA Sports ‘NHL 27’ Taps Macklin Celebrini As Cover Athlete
The San Jose Sharks’ 20-year-old phenom will be the youngest player to ever cover gaming’s biggest hockey title.

It’s official: EA Sports has announced San Jose Sharks phenom Macklin Celebrini as the cover athlete for NHL 27, making the 20-year-old center the youngest player ever to appear on the cover of the long-running hockey franchise. It’s another milestone for the former No. 1 overall pick, whose rapid rise has turned him into one of the NHL’s brightest young stars.

Celebrini’s breakout campaign gave EA plenty of reasons to hand him the spotlight. After following up an impressive rookie season with an even bigger sophomore year, the Sharks’ centerpiece has become the face of San Jose’s rebuild and one of the league’s most exciting talents. His selection also marks the first time a Sharks player has appeared on an EA Sports NHL cover since Owen Nolan graced NHL 2001, highlighting just how quickly Celebrini has become one of hockey’s biggest names.

While EA Sports has yet to reveal every new feature coming to NHL 27, more details are on the way with a trailer incoming later this week, presumably to show off gameplay and other goodies that will be coming to EA’s annual NHL sim.
Celebrini will also grace the cover of the deluxe edition and details on that will also be in demand once the reveal goes live. Tune in to this link or follow along with the Youtube video below to check out all the details once they’re unveiled.
