Go Back To The Dawn of Time With This New ‘Far Cry Primal’ Trailer

It used to be about guns, now it’s about guts.

Ubisoft’s latest entry in the Far Cry series is Far Cry Primal, and it’s taking us all the way back to the Stone Age. Woolly mammoths, spears, cavemen…the whole nine yards.

Ahead of the game’s release later this month Ubisoft has released a new trailer that explores war through several live-action vignettes. The trailer boasts that war used to be about guns, referring to its older entries, but now it’s about guts — that’s you, as you take up the role of the last survivor of your hunting group. You’re Takkar, a seasoned hunter who’s got to navigate the dangers of the Stone Age to prove his dominance in the world of Oros.

Instead of going up against other combatants armed with a menagerie of different guns, Far Cry Primal is about mastering fire, creating tools from the bones of the beasts you’ve taken out, and attracting predators who want to kill you and take your spoils. It’s all about going wild, and we’re pretty psyched to have been given a chance at exploring a brand new chapter in the Far Cry franchise.

The game is releasing versions for both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on February 23. PC gamers will have to wait until March to get their game on.
