‘Fast 8’ Co-Star Vin Diesel Is the ‘Candy Ass’ Who Caused The Rock’s Instagram Rampage

But who wins in a real-life battle to the death?

Since Dwayne Johnson went off in a heated Instagram post Tuesday about “chicken shit” Fast 8 male co-stars, this epic fight scene from Fast Five between Vin Diesel’s Dom Toretto and Dwayne Johnson’s Luke Hobbs has taken on new significance.

According to TMZ, Reports from the set indicate Diesel was allegedly the “candy ass” Johnson was referring to.

The problem appears related to Diesel’s production decisions:

We’re told The Rock has butted heads with Vin during the production, in part because V.D. is a producer and has made decisions that didn’t sit well with the former wrestling champ.

Our sources say The Rock and Vin had a meeting on the Atlanta set mid-day Tuesday … partly because tensions were running so high it was almost impossible to shoot scenes. We do not know if they resolved their issues.

Social media speculation as to who Johnson was slamming focused on Scott Eastwood, but apparently it’s been Diesel all along.

It’s been a tough shoot in general; TMZ and several other outlets reported the cast as a whole was angry about Johnson’s post, with E! Online noting that “all of the Fast 8 guys”—who include Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham, and Ludacris—could use a little “space” at the moment.

It’s probably reaching to say that set issues for the cast, which includes top-shelf, heavy-hitting Hollywood talent like Charlize Theron and Michelle Rodriguez, are related to the loss of franchise stalwart Paul Walker, but it’s apparently a pretty touchy environment anyway.

As for the artist formerly known as The Rock, he was likely just venting in a way that allowed him to keep his cool and do his work once the cameras were on. Hopefully now things will settle down and there won’t be any further conflict between the chrome domes.
