The First Poltergeist Trailer Is Here and It Looks Terrifying

We’re sleeping with the lights on tonight.

The 1982 version of The Poltergeist is a horror classic that petrified us as children and made innocuous household objects, like our televisions, entirely terrifying. Just when we’ve recovered, there’s a summer 2015 reboot of the supernatural thriller in the works.

This version, produced by Sam Raimi, stars Sam Rockwell and Rosemarie DeWitt as parents who move their family to a development that was unknowingly built over a graveyard. They find out soon enough, when their house is invaded by evil spirits who kidnap their young daughter.

It’ll be interesting to see how director Gil Kenan will stay true to the original’s plot line, while making the most of today’s technology for eerie special effects and added suspense.
