‘Game of Thrones’: Watch the Stunning First Official Season 8 Trailer

“I promised to fight for the living. I intend to keep that promise.”

Talk about a full-court press. Right after a huge spread in Entertainment Weekly, HBO has followed up with its first full-length trailer for Game of Thrones Season 8.

If you were expecting to be stoked, you will not be disappointed.

What we know is coming: a final showdown with the Night King. The entire preview leads up to that, though you never see the frosty villain. It’s also clear that major characters like Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) are ready for that battle. As Lannister says, “I promised to fight for the living. I intend to keep that promise.”

What GoT fans also get with this trailer is some major dragon action and clear indicators that everything is about to change. 

So we’re in store for six reportedly movie-length episodes, one at least including perhaps the greatest battle ever filmed for TV. All of them likely 100 times more intense than this two minute glimpse.

April 14 can’t come soon enough.
