High School Football Player Bench Presses 700 Lbs, Doesn’t Cry
Do you feel weak yet?
Do you feel weak yet?
Ah, so it seems you do indeed lift, bro.
The Dallas Morning News reports Matt Poursoltani, a senior from Pilot Point high school in Texas, just bench pressed 700 pounds.
That feeling you are experiencing, by the way, is awe.
Yahoo! Sports reports Poursoltani is drawing attention as a football prospect, precisely because he is throwing up this gaudy amount of weight.
As noted, this 700-pound bench press is just five pounds shy of the amount former NFL player Larry Allen once accomplished and is now a Texas state record.
Suddenly, that extra rep at the gym doesn’t seem so daunting now, does it?
The young man built like a small mountain improved on the already remarkable amount he bench pressed last year (570 pounds) and chalks it all up to a tremendous work ethic: “If you need something to help you work out, you need to get out of the sport. If you can’t drive yourself that hard to come in here and work out, then it’s probably just not for you.”
Yeah, it’s probably not for me.
