Watch Idris Elba Hit Peak Badass in the ‘Bastille Day’ Trailer

Idris Elba looks like he’s about to prove he can 007 with the best of them, Bond or no Bond. The smoldering British actor takes on suspected terrorists in the trailer for Bastille Day, a movie about an intelligence officer’s attempt to thwart an attack in Paris. Yes, the subject matter is very sensitive and Bastille Day is sure to remind almost everyone of the tragic terror attack in Paris this past November, which took place after production was complete. 

Although, as Deadline reported, there was uncertainty about how/if to move forward with distribution, Bastille Day has been given a July 13 release date in France — a day before the actual holiday. No U.S. release date has yet been set, and the thriller opens in the UK on April 22.
