Marvel Entertainment just dropped the first "teaser" trailer for Black Panther, but there's not a ton of teasing in it. Sure, we don't know the exact plot or all the characters yet, but this preview made it clear there will be some pretty epic ass-kicking afoot once the movie hits theaters.
Black Panther is generally about the return of Chadwick Boseman's King T'Challa to his African homeland of Wakanda following the events in Captain America: Civil War. He and the head of the special forces unit that protects him—played by Lupita Nyong'o—must battle an effort to overthrow his government that could end up triggering a total world war.
Ryan Coogler directed the action featuring Boseman and Nyong'o in addition to Michael B. Jordan as T'Challa nemesis Erik Killmonger. Hobbit star Martin Freeman plays a CIA agent working with T'Challa and Forest Whitaker is on hand the Obi-Wan Kenobi-like Zuri, an elder statesman in the title character's corner.
Black Panther has been in development for decades, but it finally hits theaters on February 16, 2018.
