Jennifer Lopez On Why Men Under 33 Are ‘Useless’
Is she wrong?
Jennifer Lopez looks ageless, but she’ll soon turn 50. She is definitely a mature (and soon-to-be-married) woman, and she has frank opinions about male maturity that may be helpful to younger women out there.
Let’s put it this way: if you are under 33 and think you could’ve made it with J. Lo when she was single, well, nope.
Lopez expressed her views when she appeared on an episode of Tinder’s Swipe Sessions, a short-form streaming show found on the dating app’s Youtube channel.
J. Lo was trying to help a 29-year-old singer named Brooke pick through her Tinder matches. Brooke stated she was looking for a man who could “chop wood,” a.k.a. a woodsy, manly-man type.
Lopez flipped through a few of Brooke’s choices then settled on a guy named Maurice, age 29. She said, “Guys, until they’re 33, are really useless.” So it was goodbye, Maurice.
If you’re 33 or under, that’s got to smart, especially coming from the woman who just had A-Rod put a ring on it.

Unfortunately, there may be some truth to what she says—a study conducted in 2013 stated that men don’t actually mature until age 43. That’s supposedly 11 years after a woman typically achieves a state of more or less mature adulthood.
The Guardian article reporting on said study even listed “30 Maturity Failings.” Here are the top 10:
- Finding their own farts and burps hilarious
- Eating fast food at 2:00am
- Playing videogames
- Driving too fast or ‘racing’ another car at the lights or on the motorway
- Sniggering a bit at rude words
- Driving with loud music
- Playing practical jokes
- Trying to beat children at games and sport
- Staying silent during an argument
- Not being able to cook simple meals
Other signs of immaturity included “Owning a skateboard or BMX” and “Driving a modified car or one with a loud exhaust/boy racer.”
Okay, that list was obviously a load of crap.
