News broke yesterday that J.J. Abrams will be taking over the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas and directing the next chapter of the space saga. Despite the fact that he has a ton of nerd cred—the guy created Lost, directed Mission: Impossible III, and rebooted Star Trek—some geeks are just not happy about this. Here are some of the dorkiest Tweets we could find about the situation. (Don’t feel bad if you don’t get all the references…at least you’ve had sex in the last decade.)
If JJ Abrams really is going to direct Star Wars VII, it makes perfect sense. Tatooine's 2 suns means 2x the lens flares.

J.J. Abrams = "Jar Jar" thing is wrong. The real connection is Grand Moff "J.J." Tarkin! (He was John Jr.)
