Wonder Woman director Patty Jenkins just confirmed some gossip about the sequel: Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig will indeed play the villain, Cheetah.

In DC universe, Cheetah is a supervillain with incredible strength and speed. She'll be a fierce feline foe for Gal Gadot.

Jenkins broke the news on Twitter, substantiating a rumor reported last week by Deadline

"So excited to confirm the most thrilling news. Yes! It's true!" Jenkins wrote.

"So incredibly lucky to welcome the sensationally talented Kristen Wiig to our Wonder Woman family. Can't wait to finally work with one of my favorites. And SO excited by what we have planned. "

Like her classic SNL character Sue, we cannot contain our excitement either.

Neither can Twitter.

It's not only good news for fans. Wiig has been looking for meatier roles post-Bridesmaids, but none of her projects, neither The Skeleton Twins nor Downsizing, have caught on with audiences.

She's played a villain before, notably in Zoolander 2, which also failed to grab audiences.

If she can go up against Wonder Woman, there will be no stopping her.

Wonder Woman 2 is slated to hit theaters on December 13, 2019.
