A new trailer for Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu's highly-anticipated The Revenant is here, and it looks like it was a grueling shoot for Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy.
Expectations for The Revenant are understandably high: It was shot by Oscar-winning cinematographer Emmanuel Lubezki (Gravity) using only natural light, and it's DiCaprio's latest attempt to nab the Oscar that has so far evaded him. His role in The Revenant is based on the true story of Hugh Glass, an 1820s explorer who fought for survival in the wild western frontier. There's snow, there's guns, there's bears, and there's people sticking their tongues out. And most importantly, there's Tom Hardy as Glass's former friend-turned-enemy John Fitzgerald.
The Revenant opens on December 25.
